School Events

Birthday Party: 

Every month we have a birthday party for all the celebrators of the month. We sing "Happy Birthday" song in three langauges; English, French and Chinese and at the end a big birthday cake is shared to everyone.

 

Moon Cake Festival: 

The festival is for lunar worship and moon watching. When mooncakes are regarded as an indespensable delicacy. Mooncakes are offered between friends or on family gatherings while celebrating the festival. The Mid-Autumn Festival is one of the four most important Chinese festivals. In our school we always feature "The Legend of the Moon Cake Festival" to all the students and presensted as a stage play by the teaching staffs. Children get a chance to make their own mooncake and at the end of the party it is served to all of them.

 

Field Trip: 

Field trip is a school event designed as an observation for education. This is another way for the children to explore and experience outside their everyday activities. Every school year we organize a field trip for the children in different places within Shanghai area.

 

Halloween Party: 

Halloween also known as Hallows Eve is a yearly celebration observed in other countries on October 31, the eve of the western Christian feast of all hallows (or all saints) .

The children in each class wear different costumes along with their parents. Games are held in different classrooms where all the children can participate. At the end of the party, the best in costume award (for the parents only) are announced and treats are given to all the children who participated in the game.

Christmas Concert: 

 

Christmas concert is one of the main events of the school where in children from different classes prepare different performances with beautiful costumes presented in a formal stage. Although Christmas in general refers to the annual commemoration of the birth of Jesus Christ and a widely observed holiday, it is also being celebrated by non-Christian country like China.

Lantern Festival: 

The Lantern Festival  is a festival celebrated on the fifteenth day of the first month in the lunisolar year in the lunar calendar , the last day of the lunisolar lunar new year  celebration. During the Lantern Festival, children go out at night to temples carrying paper lanterns and solve riddles on the lanterns. It officially ends the Chinese New Year celebrations. Like in the Chinese tradition, the children make their own lanterns and hang in an outside the classrooms. They also make Tang Yuen (soup made of sweet glutinous balls) with their parents. A parade of Chinese clothes from the children also occurs followed by the famous Lion/Dragon dance.

Carnival Party: 

Each year our school celebrates Carnival party as a way of bringing out the creativity of all our students. Each class has a different theme to work on and the children participate in making their own masks or costumes. Parents are invited and one or two families host to bring pancakes for everyone in the classroom to share. The party ends with a dash of confetti sprinkled all over the school.

Sports Day: 

This day is a day of fun sports while showing camaraderie and exercising team work as each class presents a game. The parents and teachers also play a game of pure fun.

 

Children's Day: 

Children's Day is recognized on various days in many places around the world, to honor the children globally. Children's day is often celebrated on other days as well. International day for protection of children observed in many countries as Children Day on June 1 since 1950, so every 1st of June we at school celebrate the Children's day by having a grand party. The children together with their teachers prepare a performance wearing different costumes. It is also the day that we have the Moving Up day of the children in K2 level.
